Upcoming Events & Observances

Nurse Practitioner Week
National Nurse Practitioner Week is celebrated from November 9th to 15th. During this week, we proudly recognize the expertise, leadership, and dedication that Nurse Practitioners bring to healthcare. NPs play a vital role in expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care while driving innovation across clinical practice, education, and advocacy.
To all Nurse Practitioners: thank you for your commitment to advancing health, supporting patients and families, and strengthening our healthcare system. Your impact is profound, and your leadership is essential.

National Diabetes Month & World Diabetes Day
This November, we stand in support of the millions of individuals and families affected by diabetes. National Diabetes Month reminds us of the critical role education, early screening, and community support play in preventing and managing this condition. On World Diabetes Day, recognized on November 14th, we join the global community in shining a light on the importance of accessible care, health equity, and ongoing research to improve outcomes.

Whether you’re living with diabetes, caring for someone who is, or working in healthcare, your voice and actions matter. Together, we can raise awareness and promote healthier futures.

Thanksgiving
As we gather in gratitude this season, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible nurses and healthcare professionals who continue to make a difference every day. Your compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to patient care inspire us and strengthen our communities.
This Thanksgiving, we honor the work you do, often behind the scenes, often around the clock, and always with extraordinary commitment.
The SCBNA wishes you and your loved ones a warm, safe, and joyful Thanksgiving.

World AIDS Day
On December 1st, we recognize World AIDS Day and stand in solidarity with the millions of individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. This day serves as a global reminder of the importance of awareness, education, and equitable access to care.
Nurses and healthcare professionals continue to play a vital role in prevention, early detection, compassionate care, and reducing stigma. As we acknowledge the progress made, we also recommit ourselves to advancing health equity and supporting communities disproportionately impacted by HIV.
Together, we can create a future where stigma is eliminated, care is accessible, and every individual feels supported.
